Online Short Course: Tobar an Dualchais - Creative Connections, 22-24 September 2025

This three-day course is being held in collaboration with @sabhalmorostaig and will be led by Dr Mairi McFadyen and Raghnaid Sandilands. It is intended for creative people who want to learn more about the Tobar an Dualchais/Kist o Riches resource, why the material was collected and by whom, and the many ways in which it is of value today.

Participants will be introduced to the archives which supply the Tobar an Dualchais website, namely @scottish.studies.archives, the Canna Collection and @bbcrng. They will also be introduced to some of the many important tradition-bearers whose recordings populate the site. Tutors will look at how the recordings can be used to explore local creativity, cultural ecology, and environmental awareness as well as much more.

The course will be in English but will discuss themes intrinsically linked to Gaelic.
See here for information about the course and to book a place.
